Welcome to the Hurst Lodge PTA.  The committee may be contacted directly by clicking pta@hurstlodgesch.co.uk. We hope this information is useful and it encourages you to come along and join us or just support the PTA by attending the events we organise during the year. What do we do?
The PTA at Hurst Lodge is a group of parents and teachers who give up some of their time to organize a number of events for the children and parents during the school year. We aim to raise money from these events and spend the money to improve your child’s education and to support the schools chosen charities. As a registered charity we are obliged to do things in a certain way and if you want to check us out, just go to www.charitycommission.gov.uk and type in our charity number1103156
 
Who are we?
The members of the committee are the driving force behind the PTA, ably supported by other parents and teachers who are prepared to help out during the year at the various events and attend the meetings.

Meeting dates
We meet once every term at the school – usually the first Tuesday of the new term.  These meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend so if you are interested to hear about our plans and to see if you would like to join please come along.  The meeting in September is the formal AGM of the PTA where we elect the statutory members of the committee, sign off the accounts and agree the events we intend to run and the charities we intend to support. The number of events we run depends on the number of volunteers we have and what our fund raising target is for the forthcoming year.

 
Events
Each year we usually organize a number of events. These include

• Fireworks night
• PTA Quiz - Valentines Disco  
• Party in the Park
• Picnic/Barbeque/Sponsored Walk/X Factor/Quiz Night

General
Over the past few years the PTA has successfully funded many items including:
Swimming Pool cover and lane ropes
Raised Seating in the Studio
Musical Instrument ‘Bank’
Interactive White boards and projectors
Black Out curtains for the Studio.
£3000 to fund the building of a school in Ghana (School of Compassion)

Our most recent investment was in outdoor toys for Pre prep and kindergarten. Here you can see some of the kids playing on the new toys funded by the PTA.
