Hurst Lodge are hosts to a very popular Holiday Club. The Policy to which it operates is as follows.
Children aged 3 to 7 may attend Hurst Lodge Holiday Club, which operates outside of the normal school term
The Holiday Club is designed to be "Parent Friendly" as it is open during all school holidays from 8.30am to 6.00pm, therefore catering for the working parent. Of course Morning sessions and Afternoon sessions can be booked independently and ad hoc care may be available, with 24 hours notice, if there are spaces.
The activities include:
Arts and Crafts
Home Corner
Dressing up clothes
Construction Toys
Computers
An extensive, secure outside play area with lots of equipment
The use of the school dance studios
The use of the school grounds - approx 20 acres
The welfare of the children remains one of our main priorities and The Holiday Club provision complies with all of the policies of the main school. These policies are available on the school website.
Prior to children attending Holiday Club we must have a completed registration form and health questionnaire. We also need two emergency contact numbers. It is our policy that children must be signed in on arrival and signed out at collection time.
Admission is on a first come first served basis, with prior booking being made with the Bursar or duty staff. Please note that we need 24 hours notice of non-attendance or fees will be charged in lieu.
A weekly plan of the activities on offer will be on display in the entrance hall and these activities will adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage Practice Guidance. The weekly plan will also be displayed on the web site prior to Holiday Club commencement.
Holiday Club is supervised by main school staff. There will always be two suitable members of staff on the premises with at least one person having a paediatric first aid qualification.
Food – Parents are asked to provide packed separate lunches and teas. Please take into account the fact that we have no fridge space; therefore these meals should be in a small cool box/bag with an ice pack to keep the food fresh. We ask that parents provide a healthy lunchbox (please be aware that some of our children have nut allergies and we therefore ask that no nuts are included in the lunchboxes), and that children understand that they should not share food with others. Drinking water is available at all times.
