Year 9
In Year 9, pupils focus on the Twentieth Century World and the Industrial Revolution.There are trips to the Tate Modern and the Holocaust Exhibition at the Imperial War Museum.

Year 10
The GCSE syllabus starts with a study of the material necessary for sitting Paper 1 at the end of Year 10

Year 11
Year 11 will be the last pupils to sit the existing GCSE. In future years, Year 11 will study aspects of British history from the Twentieth Century and complete an assignment under controlled conditions. This replaces the former course work module.

Homework

History homework is set in Years 7-9 on the following nights:

Year 7 - Thursday
Year 8 - Thursday and Friday depending on which group you are in
Year 9 - Wednesday

Remember that in years 7 and 8, you should spend approximately 30 minutes on your history homework task.

In year 9, you should spend approximately 45 minutes on your history homework tasks.

Remember when doing homework to plan your answers carefully, check your work afterwards and hand it in on time!

At GCSE and A level, tasks are set on a more variable basis.

Remember to check your year group’s section of the website to see if there are any specific hints for the week’s homework
