Sixth Form
AS level
The AS level in this subject is divided into three equally weighted units; Core Mathematics one (C1), Core Mathematics two (C1) and Statistics one (S1).
The aim is to complete all the units by Easter. We will then work through past papers to prepare for the examinations in these units. The examinations take place later in the Summer Term, each of which is one and a half hours long.
A2 level
The ‘A’ Level in Mathematics is divided into 6 equally weighted units, four are Pure maths (C1, C2, C3 and C4), one Mechanics (M1) and one Statistics (S1). C1, C2 and S1 form an ‘AS’ in this subject and these have been covered in the lower 6th. The aim is to complete C3, C4 and M1 by Easter, then work through past papers to prepare for the examinations in these units. These units will be examined later in the Summer Term with each examination lasting one and a half hours.
