Science Day
A day when Science played a major role in most subjects which are taught at Hurst Lodge was recently held at the school.
A number of subject teachers cast aside their normal curriculum and adapted part of their lessons with Years 7-10 to include some aspect of Science. Amongst the participants were Miss Owusu (English) who looked at Science Fiction, Mr McCoy telling the sometimes gruesome History of Science, Mrs Hooker (Geography) with some exciting Environmental Science issues and super-sleuth Mrs Kalsi (Mathematics) who led her classes in a CSI style investigation!
The afternoon concluded with all students running around the site in a frantic Science Jigsaw Quiz.
It is hoped that the day helped students to realise that learning about Science should not stop when they are finally
released from the Science laboratory!
